| How do students contact Professor Cunningham? | | If a student needs to reach the professor outside of class, please call her cell phone number or email her at: jcunningham@historyrules.com jennifer.cunningham@sjcd.edu If you call her cell phone, please keep in mind of what time you are calling, unless it is a true emergency. | | What is the grading policy in class? | There are 5 grades in the class. Each grade is worth a total of 25%. There are a total of 4 tests (3 tests and a final exam) and 1 project. 10 quizzes are given throughout the semester. Each quiz equals 10 points and is an average of 10 questions over the chapter. The total of quizzes will replace the lowest test grade or your final exam if the quiz grade is an 80 or above. Students may only be exempt from the final exam (test 4) if their quiz grade is an 80 or above and the student chooses to take their quiz average as their final exam score. If the quiz grade is not an 80 or above, the average will replace the lowest test grade and the student will take the final exam. | | What are the topics discussed in class? | In history 1301, we discuss from colonial origins through reconstruction, including exploration and colonization of the new world, the American Revolution, westward expansion, the Civil War, and reconstruction. Hist 1301 starts with the Native Americans crossing into the ?New World? and ends with the reconstruction of Civil War in 1877. In history 1302, we discuss from big business, big labor, the United States as a world power, the Great Depression, WWI and WWII, Cold War, Vietnam, Civil and woman rights, and modern events within the last 50 years. | Are there tutoring sections available for students? | | The heart of student center and student help is found in the ILC. San Jacinto College's Interactive Learning Centers provide a multitude of technology resources for students. Inside the campus? Interactive Learning Centers, hundreds of computer commons are available to students. These commons are equipped with state-of-the-art computers connected to printers, supplying students with endless electronic resource needs. Once assigned an account, users have access to the Internet, Microsoft Office, Blackboard and other San Jac-supported applications. Other support is available in the form of students assistants, tutorials, a help desk, media support, a Cyber Caf?, copier access and a computer store. South campus hours are Monday - Thursday: 6:45am - 10pm, Saturday and Sunday are closed. Number is 281-484-1900. Ext. 4680 or 4681.
