  • Smithsonian Institution - The Smithsonian Institution is the world's largest museum complex and research organization composed of 19 museums, 9 research centers, and the National Zoo

  • Princeton University - a site that has a wide range of links for a variety of history

  • History Channel - The History Channel site gives you information on programs, history of the day and much more.

  • Presidents of the United States - A very comprehensive site on the Presidents of the United States and the US Presidency. The alphabetized subject headings below are linked to a wide variety of sites containing information and resources about each president.

  • Best History - covers history from ancient to modern history including oral and written information.

  • The Fifty States - shows information on all 50 states and has timelines and additional historical facts such as women's history.

  • PBS - Information on civil liberties among people

  • U.S. History - A wealth of information for anyone who is looking at different periods of history

  • HistoryNet - It has daily features, photo galleries and over 5,000 articles originally published in our various magazines. If you are interested in a specific history subject, try searching the archives.

 

United States Government:

  • The United States Government - The United States Government's official web site

  • White House - Official site for the White House

  • Senate - Official site of the Senate

  • House of Representatives - Official site of House of Representatives

  • The Charters of Freedom - The USA Constitution, Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights and other important documents on this official government site.

  • Library of Congress - The Library of Congress is the nation's oldest federal cultural institution and serves as the research arm of Congress.

  • US Census Bureau - Public resources from the US Census Bureau including population, economic, industry, and geography studies.

 

College, Career and Scholarship:

  • ACT- The ACT is America's most widely accepted college entrance exam

  • College Board - Representing hundreds of colleges for many entrance college exams

  • FAFSA - Grants and Loans for college

  • FastWeb - Helps students make the decisions to shape their lives, plus it's all free

  • Kaplan -  Provides study guides and helpful hints on SAT and ACT

  • THEA - All students must take this test in order to attend Texas Colleges
